Gas Cylinders on site are guaged using guage pictured.
Each Gas Cylinder will have how it did in write ups on each.

Very Good to Excellent: Cylinders will guage better with the guage visably portruding from cylinder.
Good: Gas Cylinder will pass guage test with being at least Flush on Guage
Out of Spec: These cylinders let guage seat below flush line. These are functional and will work fine, just won't produce super accuracy as they will bleed gas, reducing system efficiency. These are good candidates for boring out and using oversize piston to make them Good as New.
